Welcome to the Firstlight Workshop in Auvillar, France
September 3rd-9th, 2007

A five-day digital photography workshop that will allow you to improve your travel photography, overcome your fear of photographing people and learn how to make your photos shine in the digital darkroom.

Pre-scouted photo assignments provide your gateway to the people, places and rhythms of rural France, providing an immersion into the art and craft of visual storytelling. After your shoot, daily one-on-one critique sessions with the instructors help your photography accelerate to the next level.  Daily group critiques foster a sense of camaraderie amongst your fellow students and demonstrate how your photos contribute towards the workshop goal of documenting a week in the life of Auvillar, France.

The final night of the workshop is reserved for a grand finale projection session, with the townspeople as our audience. The entire process comes to life with the unveiling of our own FirstLight Auvillar Magazine. Your copy of the FirstLight Auvillar magazine will arrive at your home after the completion of the workshop.

FirstLight will provide accommodations in either the Hotel de L’Horloge or a Chambres D’Hotes ; both these locations are near the heart of this small village. We will provide a limited amount of Olympus E system camera equipment for those wanting to try out this state-of-the-art system.
