Getting There
Barcelona is a non-stop flight from several US airports or easy connections through Frankfurt, London or Paris.

While you’re traveling to Spain, why not make this an extraordinary vacation? Let Earth Excursions customize a tour especially for you, before or after the photography excursion. Whether you want to explore the Costa Brava, Cadaques or stay awhile longer in Barcelona, they can make the arrangements. Maybe you’re interested in wine tasting or biking through the countryside. Perhaps you’d like to travel further afield and spend time in Amsterdam, London or points beyond. All things are possible with Earth Excursions arranging your travel itinerary.

For our European residents, visit Ocoa Travel Consulting, S.L. where Abel Calvet or Johanne Chéné can assist you. Fluent in English, Catalan and Castellano, they can be reached in Barcelona the following ways:

Telephone: + 34 93 544 16 39
Fax: + 34 93 589 22 41
E-mail: abel.calvet@ocoatravel.es

All participants should plan on arriving in Barcelona no later than September 20th, in time for the opening-night wine and cheese party. There you will meet your instructors and get your first taste of Barcelona.

Being There

Lodging:
Accommodations for the FirstLight workshop will be at the St. Cugat Hotel, in Sant Cugat..a few minutes by Metro from the heart of Barcelona–and very near the workshop Headquarters. Lodging for 7 nights (Sep. 20th-27th), including breakfast, is included in your Workshop fee. Once again, lodging preferences are based on a first-come, first-serve basis, so we advise you to register early

September 20th, Saturday evening
Opening-night wine and cheese party where you will meet your instructors and other workshop participants.

September 21st, Sunday morning
We’ll meet at the FirstLight Headquarters and you’ll be assigned an editor who will help you choose your first assignment; the exploration & photographing of the area begins now. That evening will be our first group shoot: the start of the La Merce with the “Gigantes” (the costumed figures topped with giant heads) parading through the streets of San Cugat with a background of fireworks.

September 22nd-September 25th
Multiple opportunities for you and the other participants to travel with the instructors to vineyards, fishing villages and other visually rich photo opportunities.

September 26th, Friday night
This is our final night and it is reserved for the closing show, where your work will be displayed as large prints in a gallery setting. This signature event of FirstLight is open to the public, and is an incredible display of the work produced during the week. The entire process comes to life with the unveiling of our own FirstLight Barcelona Magazine; this will arrive at your home after the completion of the workshop.
